Opening Times and Prices  

In winter(after the clocks change), visitors should arrive prompt for 1.30pm but between February 21st and the last Saturday in October inclusive we would ask visitors to arrive for 2.30pm. We will confirm the timing when we acknowledge your booking.(Click here to see details of our Summerand Autumn Guided Walks).Please note that for walks booking in advance is essential (see below)

Prices: As this is not an RSPB reserve the day to day running costs of the project are funded entirely from visitors’ contributions
Ranger led visit to the hide: Adult £4, children* £2, Families** £10
Under sixes can visit free, senior citizens' weekday reduction £3 (hide only).

Guided walk: Adult £8, children* £4, families** £20
Guided walk and visiting the hide (full day): Adult £12, children* £6, families** £30
* Children’s prices are for 6 to 16-year-olds.
** Family prices are for two adults and up to three children.
Outwith feeding time, money is collected via honesty boxes
Children must be supervised at all times.
We regret that we do not accept credit card payments.

How to reach us
If you are coming by road please see the map and Directions pages of this website. For information about public transport please contact Stirling Council on 01786 443322. The nearest train station is 3 miles away at Dunblane and there is a public bus service to within 1 mile of us (bus times from Stirling Council as above)

   
Facilities  

From the Car Park, there is a walk of about 500m on a gently sloping, winding path up to the hide which has 360 degree views. The hide will hold about 30 people. Both path and hide are suitable for all abilities access.If we know in advance, it is usually possible to offer a lift to the hide for those who find the walk difficult. At feeding time there will always be someone on hand to guide you and to tell you about the red kites and the programme of reintroduction as well as all the other wildlife that you might see on your visit. Why not make it a complete day out and visit the Doune Ponds, the Castle or some of the other local attractions? Doune can also offer a choice of eating places as well as shops, Information Centre and ATM.
